Co-Chairperson Yun Sun-Jin chaired the panel discussion of the ‘Co-creation of Innovation’ session, at the 2020 Expo Dubai ‘Swedish Innovation Day’ webinar,
and publicly promoted Korea’s ‘2050 Carbon Neutrality’ policy

□ Co-Chairperson Yun Sun-Jin of the 「2050 Carbon Neutrality Commission」 participated in the 2020 Dubai Expo 「Swedish Innovation Day」 webinar* held from 17:00 to 19:00 on Wednesday, January 20, 2022, and presided over the panel discussion on the topic “Industrial innovation for sustainable development,” ▵introduced the background and major contents of Korea's '2050 Carbon Neutrality' initiative, and ▵urged innovation efforts from all different sectors for global sustainable development.
* The Webinar was hosted by the Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNOVA) and was attended by Government and corporate officials from Korea and Sweden.
ㅇ The 「2050 Carbon Neutrality Commission」 was invited to this webinar by the “Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems(VINNOVA)". Representatives from VINNOVA indicated that the invitation was made due to the clear commitment of Korea to promote its '2050 carbon neutrality' policy based on innovations in several sectors of society, including industry, technology, and energy, which is highly related to today’s webinar topic of 'Co-Creation for Innovation'.
ㅇ Additionally, the Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems(VINNOVA) has requested to strengthen cooperation with the 「2050 Carbon Neutrality Commission」, expressing its wishes that building upon today’s webinar, cooperation between Korea and Sweden will further be strengthened.
□ Co-Chairperson Yun Sun-Jin, mentioned in the panel discussion that there is a broad consensus on the need for cooperation among governments, businesses and civil society for the sustainable development of all mankind, and therefore there is a need to jointly seek ways to achieve sustainable development for all.
ㅇ Particularly, Co-Chairperson Yun emphasized that, given that Sweden has played a leading role in global innovation, Korea and Sweden will be able to enhance cooperation in promoting innovation in every sector of economy and society, including climate change response, and asked for cooperation in sharing best practices and experiences.
□ In the panel discussion (topic: “Industrial Innovation for Sustainable Development”) chaired by Co-Chairperson Yun, the Governments of participating countries and corporate officials presented their case studies in the area of industrial innovation, and VINNOVA expressed its gratitude for participating in and contributing to this webinar.
