The Korea Institute of Energy Technology aka Kentech on March 2 holds a ceremony for its incoming class and declaration of its vision in Naju, Jeollanam-do Province. Set up by the central and local governments and the state-run Korea Electric Power Corp., the school will lead efforts for energy conversion, innovation of university education and balanced regional development with an inaugural class of 107 undergraduate and 49 graduate students this year. President Moon Jae-in said in a congratulatory video speech that Kentech has "two big dreams": achieving balanced national development and making Korea a future energy power.
