Today, the second day of his visit to the Philippines, President Moon Jae-in attended the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Summit and Related Summits. This is the seventh day of his three-nation tour of Southeast Asia.

The opening ceremony was held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Manila. In attendance were President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines, the host country, and other heads of state and government participating in the summits.

With the event underway, ASEAN member states will proceed with multilateral meetings, bilateral summits and other economy-related events. President Moon is scheduled to address the ASEAN Business & Investment Summit and attend the ASEAN Plus Three Summit, in which Korea, China and Japan are the members. He will also take part in the East Asia Summit (EAS), which has invited eighteen countries, including the ASEAN member states, to expand the scope of exchanges with ASEAN nations.
