Following a meeting with Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of the United Arab Emirates, President Moon Jae-in attended the Korea-UAE Business Forum today.
The Forum was held under the theme of the establishment of a forward-looking partnership looking toward another 100 years. President Moon discussed with the 300 business leaders from Korea and the UAE how to expand bilateral cooperation in a variety of areas, including new and renewable energy, information and communication technology, healthcare, financial services, culture and education.
In his keynote speech, President Moon said that the different industrial structures of the two countries led to mutually beneficial economic cooperation, which in turn, made it possible for the two nations to maintain brotherly relations. In addition, the President expressed his expectations for shared economic development to be driven by forward-looking cooperation from fostering new industries to advancing into markets in third countries.
The President said that Korea was creating a Korean Peninsula of peace and prosperity and that it was the most opportune time to invest in the country. He continued that he believed when peace was settled on the Peninsula, their investment would bear fruit and there would be more business opportunities.
President Moon said Korea would accompany the UAE on its robust journey as a reliable brother and friend, wishing that bilateral friendship would continue in a beautiful and magnificent manner.
