President Moon Jae-in will further broaden and intensify his actions to stimulate the economy following the Lunar New Year holiday.
As the first such move planned in the days after the holiday, the President will convene a meeting with leaders of innovative business ventures. During the meeting, the President is expected to have an in-depth discussion focusing on venture investments and innovative startups with heads of first-generation business ventures and unicorn companies (new startups valued at over US$1 billion).
To help reinvigorate the local economy, the President will also sit down with the heads of local governments, who are at the forefront of managing the day-to-day lives of the people. On these occasions, the President will first explain his Administration's economic and social policies as well as its key tasks such as promoting autonomy and decentralization. The President will also request that the heads of local governments do their parts and work together with the Government to reinvigorate local economies.
During the third week, the focus of the President's moves will shift to spreading economic vigor.
A smart-city-strategy briefing session will be arranged to unveil a pace-setting, future-oriented smart city model. The event will be prepared in a way that presents a blue print for cities to emerge as a result of “smartization” in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
