President Moon Jae-in sent a letter of condolence today to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe regarding the devastation caused by Typhoon Hagibis, which struck Japan October 12-13. 

In his letter, the President expressed his sorrow over the loss of many precious lives and the enormous property damage caused by the typhoon, conveying his deepest sympathy and consolation to Prime Minister Abe and the people of Japan. 

President Moon also expressed his sincere hope that the Japanese Government and people could come together and recover from the disaster as early as possible, wishing the many affected a quick return to peaceful daily lives. 

The condolence message was delivered to Japan through a diplomatic channel this afternoon. 

President Moon also sent Japan a condolence letter following a typhoon that hit Osaka and an earthquake that jolted Sapporo around September 6 last year.
