President Moon Jae-in attended a ceremony in which 12 new ambassadors to Korea presented their diplomatic credentials at Cheong Wa Dae from 3:00 this afternoon.
At the hour-long ceremony, the participating ambassadors expressed their gratitude and support for the hard work done by President Moon during the process of bringing peace to the Korean Peninsula and stability to the region. They also said they looked forward to bilateral cooperation being taken to a new level in various fields, including climate change, people-to-people exchanges, tourism, culture and trade.
In addition, ambassadors from nations that President Moon has yet to visit asked the President to plan a trip to their home countries.
In reply, President Moon said, “I am deeply grateful to you for expressing support for the development of bilateral relations as well as warm-hearted sympathy on the passing of my mother.” He added, “I hope that Korea and your countries will grow into better partners for the sake of future peace and common prosperity and that the ambassadors gathered here will play a role as a bridge in the process.”
