At the request of U.S. President Donald Trump, President Moon Jae-in spoke with him on the phone for 30 minutes from 11:00 this morning. The two presidents had in-depth discussions about how to advance the peace process on the Korean Peninsula.
The two leaders shared an understanding that the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula is grave. They also agreed that the momentum of dialogue should be sustained to hasten achievements from negotiations over denuclearization between the United States and North Korea.
In addition, the two heads of state concurred that, for the time being, consultations between them would be necessary and agreed to hold telephone conversations at any time needed.
