The Human Rights Day Ceremony was held at Seoul Anglican Cathedral to mark the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The day commemorates the United Nations General Assembly adopting the Declaration on December 10, 1948. Eleven citizens who had suffered human rights infringements also joined the Ceremony. They read aloud personal statements and parts of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In his congratulatory remarks, President Moon said, “Dissolving the vestiges of the Cold War and establishing permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula is to promote human rights and decent lives for all of our people.” Here is the full video of his congratulatory remarks at the 2018 Human Rights Day Ceremony.
