Korea Post issues commemorative stamps to mark the inauguration of President Moon Jae-in on Aug. 17, the 100th day after his inauguration. The background sheet that comes with the 16 stamps depicts the president and citizens holding up a giant national Taegeukgi flag.

Stamps to commemorate President Moon Jae-in’s inauguration will soon be released.
Korea Post announced that it will issue stamps to celebrate the inauguration of the 19th president on Aug. 17, which is the 100th day after his inauguration.
A total of 5 million commemorative stamps, 500,000 small stamp sheets and 20,000 stamp albums will be released.
A portrait of President Moon with the Taegeukgi national flag in the background was chosen for the individual stamp. The sheet depicts the president and citizens together holding up a giant Korean national flag, which represents the goals of the new government which are to bring the nation together. The smaller sheet of stamps shows him waving to the people from his official limousine on his inauguration day, May 10, 2017.
The commemorative stamp album for the inauguration of the 19th president contains images of President Moon Jae-in’s childhood, wedding and inauguration.
The stamp envelop designed with the commemorative stamps is printed with a message that says, “Together we make a nation of the people, a republic of justice.” It also comes with a commemorative postage stamp and an ink stamp showing the president`s visage.
A sheet of "My Own Stamps" in the commemorative stamp album includes photos of the president when he was a child, serving in the army, marrying the first lady, attending the candlelight rallies, embracing a bereaved person, as well as pictures of his inauguration ceremony.
One stamp costs KRW 330, the small sheet costs KRW 420 and the stamp album goes for KRW 23,000. They can be bought at post offices across the nation or online at www.epost.go.kr.
An official from Korea Post said, “Except for the fourth president, Yun Bo-seon, who was missed due to the political situation, Korea Post has been issuing stamps to mark presidential inaugurations from the first to eighteenth.”
