President Moon Jae-in visited the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery on Nov. 9 as part of his three-day state visit to Indonesia. The cemetery is home to the remains of independence fighters and heroes who sacrificed their lives during the Indonesian independence movement.
President Moon laid a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier. He then visited the grave of Agus Salim (1885-1954), a well-known Indonesian independence fighter and national hero.
In the guest book, President Moon wrote, “I pay my respects to the fallen Indonesian heroes who died protecting their homeland. Indonesia and the Republic of Korea will succeed with their sacred will to walk the path of friendship and co-prosperity in an unchanging manner.”
President Moon`s three-day state visit to Indonesia runs from Nov. 8 to 10. He will then head to Da Nang, Vietnam, for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on Nov. 10 and 11.
