President Moon Jae-in will be making a state visit to India and Singapore from July 8 to 13 for six days.
President Moon will first head to India on a four-day state visit that will include a bilateral summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During their summit, the two leaders will discuss ways to strengthen their special strategic partnership, and ways to further expand future-oriented cooperation.
The president will then make a state visit to Singapore from July 11 to 13. He will meet with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and discuss ways to bolster cooperation between the two countries.
Furthermore, the president will be giving a special lecture to some of Singapore's top opinion leaders concerning Korea's efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula and to establish lasting peace in the region. The president will highlight his administration's New Southern Policy, aimed at strengthening cooperation with ASEAN.
"Through these two state visits, the president plans to shift Korea's vision for the New Southern Policy into high gear. We hope that these visits will widen Korea's diplomatic horizons," said Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson Kim Eui-kyeom during a press briefing at the Chunchugwan Press Center on July 2.
