President Moon Jae-in on April 10 arrived at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland, near Washington at 5:25 p.m.
He and first lady Kim Jung-sook were welcomed by Acting U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Japan and Korea Marc Knapper, David Sumera, commander of the 89th Airlift Support Group, and other American officials as well as Korean ambassador to Washington Cho Yoon-je.
President Moon will rest for the day, and his itinerary will start on the morning of April 11 with meetings with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser John Bolton and Vice President Mike Pence.
Later that day, President Moon will have an exclusive one-on-one summit with U.S. President Donald Trump for an estimated two hours, which will be followed by an expanded meeting with chief advisers and secretaries present.
Cheong Wa Dae said on April 10 that the two presidents will hold during their summit in-depth talks on their consensus on the need for a road map to achieve the "end state" of North Korea's complete denuclearization.
