"A historic meeting."
This is what President Moon Jae-in, U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called their June 30 gathering at the truce village of Panmunjeom on the inter-Korean border.
The event was unprecedented, leading Trump to say that if Kim did not appear, he would be in an awkward situation.
The American president said he only expected to shake Kim's hand and say hello, but they ended up holding talks for 53 minutes. Pyeongyang and Washington have thus gone from stalled dialogue to preparing for working-level talks.
Kim also called the meeting "an amazing event."
