President Moon Jae-in on Oct. 14 sent a condolatory message to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe over the extensive damage caused by Typhoon Hagibis there.
In his message delivered through a diplomatic channel, the president expressed deep regret over the huge losses in life and property and sent his condolences to Abe and the Japanese people.
"I do hope the Japanese government and the people recover from such damage early and get back to ordinary life as soon as possible," he said.
In September last year, President Moon also sent condolatory messages to Japan over the damage incurred by a typhoon in Osaka and an earthquake in Sapporo.
