President Moon Jae-in is slated to attend in November the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)+3 (Korea, China and Japan) summit, the East Asia Summit (EAS) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, visiting three countries in the process.
In Bangkok from Nov. 3-5, the president will attend on the morning of Nov. 4 the ASEAN+3 summit, where he will urge cooperation from ASEAN member states to achieve the goal of developing a sustainable community. In the afternoon, he will take part in the EAS, where he will explain Seoul's diplomatic efforts to achieve complete denuclearization of and everlasting peace on the Korean Peninsula. He will request global support to make strides in the Korean peace process.
From Nov. 13-14, President Moon will visit Mexico for a summit with Mexican President López Obrador and then fly to Santiago, Chile, to attend the APEC summit from Nov. 15-17. The latter event's theme is "Connecting people, building the future," and leaders there will discuss issues in trade, investment and connectivity, inclusive and sustainable development, and APEC'S future.
