President Moon Jae-in on June 27 hosted a luncheon meeting with parliamentary speakers of Eurasian countries at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae, asking for stronger cooperation in the region.
More than 70 representatives attended the meeting, including Russia`s State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin and Korea’s National Assembly Speaker Chung Syekyun.
President Moon said, “I’d say that another name for Eurasia is ‘diversity.’ However we, as members of the Eurasian region, have one goalin common: the more we exchange and cooperate with each other, the more we grow together,” adding, “Achieving co-prosperity across the Eurasian region is a mission given to a country by its people.”
President Moon Jae-in on June 27 proposes a toast with parliamentary speakers of Eurasian countries in a Cheong Wa Dae luncheon meeting.
He also urged the representatives to show “more interest in and support for resolving North Korea’s nuclear weapons issues,” saying, “The (South) Korean government will also strive to establish a permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula with the international community using all possible means, including sanctions and dialogue.”
