On Dec. 2, Chairman Chong Soo Park attended the East Asia Railway Community International Forum 2021, which was held under the theme of “Beginning of the Journey towards the East Asia Railway Community.” He shared his views in the panel discussion that followed a keynote address by Sejong Institute Chairman Moon Chung-in.

Participants agreed that promoting the EARC initiative will contribute to bringing peace and strengthening economic exchanges in the region and stressed on the need to develop various consultation channels and networks to this end.

Acknowledging the challenges presented by North Korea sanctions and the Covid-19 pandemic, Chairman Park proposed focusing on creating a favorable condition for cooperation with Russia and other neighboring countries first before gradually moving toward an inter-Korean railway cooperation.
