President Moon Jae-in departed from Seoul Air Base in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do Province, and arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport today to begin a state visit to China, December 13-16, for the first time since he took office. Upon arrival, the President was greeted by welcoming delegations from both countries.

President Lee Sook-soon of the Korean Community China and Vice-chairman Kim Hong-gi of the Korea Chamber of Commerce in China greeted the President. The Chinese delegation included Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Kong Xuanyou, who is also serving as the Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Korean Peninsular Affairs, Ambassador of China to Korea Qiu Guohong and Deputy Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry Fan Yong. 

On the first day of the four-day visit today, President Moon is scheduled to meet members of the Korean community in China, attend the Korea-China Business Round Table along with business leaders of both nations and give a speech at the Korea-China Business Forum.
