President Trump’s upcoming visit was arranged after President Moon Jae-in extended an invitation during the two leaders’ summit in Washington D.C. last April. The summit will come approximately 80 days after their April meeting, and it will be their eighth in about two years since their first summit in June 2017.
President Trump will arrive in Korea in the afternoon of June 29. On the next day, President Trump will sit down with President Moon at Cheong Wa Dae. During the summit, the two leaders are expected to have in-depth discussions on how to work closely together to establish permanent peace through the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula while further strengthening the ROK-U.S. alliance.
President Trump will depart from Osan Air Base on Sunday afternoon to return to Washington D.C.
