President Moon Jae-in on June 28 left for a four-day visit to the U.S.
Departing from Seoul Air Base in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do Province, he will arrive in Washington, D.C.
The president`s itinerary starts with a visit to a memorial for the Battle of Chosin Reservoir (장진호 전투), one of the fiercest battles in the Korean War (1950-53). He will later attend the Korea-U.S. Business Round Table and a banquet hosted jointly by the chambers of commerce of both countries.
On June 29, President Moon will hold talks with leaders of the House of Representatives and the Senate, including House Speaker Paul Ryan. Later that day, President Moon and first lady Kim Jung-sook are scheduled to attend a welcoming banquet at the White House hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump.

On the morning of June 30, President Moon will lay a wreath at the Korean War Veterans Memorial with U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, whose late father is known to have fought in the war. He also will meet some U.S. war veterans.
President Moon will then hold a summit with President Trump at the White House as the highlight of his U.S. visit. Afterwards, both leaders will adopt a joint statement on what they agreed on such as enhancing their bilateral alliance and approaching issues of mutual interest. They will hold a joint news conference to announce the results and significance of their summit.
On the final day of his visit, President Moon will attend a luncheon with Vice President Pence and then give a speech on his government’s diplomacy and security policies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
